Thanks, Danny. I hear you, and this makes sense to me. An important context is that I wrote this essay to make a handful of friends laugh, and I have been completely surprised by how far it has traveled.

I think there are all kinds of ways to defend versions of DT and particularly specific methods associated with it. I have particularly heard some passionate, good, interesting defenses of specific methods, even Post-It Notes, over the last few days.

I would say that I am taking aim at a specific commoditized version of DT, and even more I’m trying to argue that we should NOT take DT as a model for reforming all of education. I hope that latter argument especially is both a) clear and b) true.
